The Lee County Community Band will present “The Music is Something Grand,” its fifth concert of the season, at 3 p.m. on March 11 at Cape Coral High School. The program is free (donations accepted) and open to the public.
The concert features the A Night on Bald Mountain by Moussorgsky; The 1812 Overture by Tschaikowsky; and everyone’s favorite Irish tune,MacNamara’s Band. Under the baton of Richard Bradstreet, the band also will play Dixieland Festival, a tribute to Louis Armstrong; and two pieces by Leroy Anderson – The Girl I Left Behind Me and The Typewriter.
An institution in Southwest Florida, the Lee County Community Band enjoys a large, loyal, enthusiastic audience. The last concert of the season is set for April 8, also at Cape Coral High School, 2300 Santa Barbara Boulevard, one block north of Veterans Parkway.
