The Lee County Community Band will conclude its 2016-17 season with ‘Til We Meet Again on April 2, transporting the audience back to the age of speakeasies and the arrival of cars on city streets with New York: 1927; and Twentiana, a montage of songs from the 1920s.
The program features flute soloist Kelly Koontz in Rhapsody for Flute, and concludes with the moving American Civil War Fantasy. The concert will take place at 3 p.m. at Cape Coral High School.
Director Richard Bradstreet has rounded out the program with a selection of best-loved Sousa marches; the popular España Rhapsody; Ramona, performed by vocalist and emcee Norman Jones; and a sing-a-long of old favorites.
Cape Coral High School is located at 2300 Santa Barbara Boulevard, one block north of Veterans Parkway. The concert is free (donations accepted) and open to the public.
The 60–member band is comprised of musicians from all walks of life who reside in Lee, Collier, and Charlotte Counties.
