The Lee County Community Band will present its fourth concert of the season at 3 p.m. on February 11 Cape Coral High School. The program is free (donations accepted) and open to the public.
The concert features the excerpts from Dvořák’s New World Symphony; a tribute to composer, pianist, singer, actor, and bandleader Hoagy Carmichael; and big band classics, including In the Mood, Satin Doll, and Jumpin’ at the Woodside. Under the baton of Richard Bradstreet, the band also will play spirited marches, including the famous Dambusters; other band classics, including Lassus Trombone; and the patriotic favorite, American Salute.
An institution in Southwest Florida, the Lee County Community Band enjoys a large, loyal, enthusiastic audience. Future concert dates are March 11 and April 8, 2018. Both will be at Cape Coral High School at 3 p.m. Cape Coral High School is at 2300 Santa Barbara Boulevard, one block north of Veterans Parkway.
