Back in 1885, the Lee County Community Band was originally formed as the Fort Myers Brass Band. As a volunteer organization, the band relied on the generous donations given by the citizens of the newly formed city of Fort Myers to provide musical entertainment.

Over 130 years later, though much has changed, one thing has remained constant. As a non-profit 501(c)3 entity, the Lee County Community Band relies on donations in order to defray the costs involved with being able to continue the tradition started so long ago by our predecessors–to bring the joy of music to our audiences and never charge a fee.
